Experience

Experience is a great teacher, correct??

Why do we rely on our own experiences? Why is it we can't learn from others and their experiences? Why are we so hung up on ourselves? Why are we so selfish?

I wish I could get people to listen to some of my bad experiences before they choose to go down a path that is disgusting.

How can I teach others from my own experiences?

Why can't I get over myself and learn from other's experiences?

Hey, I like the new look! :D

I don't know why this is. I certainly wish I would have listened to others and learned from their experiences in situations in my life. But we don't. It's like kids: for some reason, they have to learn it on their own, even little ones. You tell them: "Don't touch that, it's hot." But they just HAVE to touch it and see for themselves.

And maybe there is something the other person needs to learn from having the experience themselves.

It's not much fun watching people make mistakes they will regret though, is it??

I LOVE YOU!!!

When you find the answer will you share with the rest of us?

It is always easier to see from the other side. If we would just pause before we react maybe we could truly learn from others experiences. Then again maybe then we would be the person GOD intended us to be?

I think that sometimes we learn better when we experience for ourselves. But I think I know what you are referring to and I am just as baffled as you. I pray God can heal where we cannot help.....

I had to learn this lesson too and here is the peace God provided me on this subject. We are all entitled to our own mistakes. God created us with free will for a reason. I've tried to spare my children and those I love from making mistakes and realized that it was not allowing them to live. How can we experience redemptive love until we understand that we need to be redeemed? It is soooooo hard to watch others experience a pain you have experienced but that is why He calls us to love one another and carry each other's burdens. He never said to keep them from being burdened. He called them to Him and called us to help carry them and their burdens there.
